Like most characters in the Warriors series, Ginchiyo Tachibana was
a real woman. Below is some information on her real history and her in-game
self.Ginchiyo Tachibana - History
Tachibana Ginchiyo (September 23, 1569-November 30, 1602) was the head of the Japanese clan of Tachibana during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Ginchiyo was the daughter of Tachibana Dosetsu, retainer of the Otomo (which were rivals of the Shimazu clan at the time). Due to the fact that Dosetsu had no sons, he requested that Ginchiyo be made family head after his death. After about five years, Ginchiyo was married to Tachibana Muneshige, who carried on Dosetsu's family line. [information from Wikipedia]
Ginchiyo Tachibana - Samurai Warriors 2
Ginchiyo's story begins after her father's death, as her clan is slowly losing power and territory to their rivals, the Shimazu. Hideyoshi Toyotomi is attempting to gain control over the island of Kyushu where the two clans reside. Ginchiyo sides with the Toyotomi, seizing the opportunity to fight against the man responsible for her father's death - Yoshihiro Shimazu. The Shimazu are beaten by the stronger army and decide to also serve under Toyotomi.
Ginchiyo and Yoshihiro have a clear rivalry from start to finish, although it gets less hostile on Ginchiyo's side as time goes on. Yoshihiro's carefree attitude towards her father's death no doubt fuels her thirst for vengeance - while Yoshihiro sees it all as part of war, Ginchiyo takes it to heart and is determined to have revenge.
The main Toyotomi showdown is Ginchiyo's stage 4, at Sekigahara, but her story mode continues to a final showdown with Yoshihiro.

Ginchiyo Tachibana - Warriors Orochi 1 & 2
In Warriors Orochi, Ginchiyo allies with the Shu forces and it appears that her distaste for Yoshihiro has developed into a mistrust of all men! When Yue Ying worries over the choice of her husband to side with Orochi, Ginchiyo appears and declares "this is why men can't be trusted!" You've gotta laugh, really...!
In Warriors Orochi 2, Ginchiyo has ended up with Wu on the insistence of Okuni (though there's not really much more elaboration than that) and appears in the ending sequence of the story mode, albeit very briefly.
